  Fun fact: Sheryl Lee Ralph was supposed to get the part of “Sandra” in 227 but Marla Gibbs wanted  Jackee’ because Sheryl Lee Ralph had just gotten off of Broadway and would probably be deemed too glamorous. Marla said no one would believe that Sheryl Lee Ralph would “live” in the 227 apt building. Jackee’ didn’t know that Marla specifically picked her.
